In 1938 Roy's Cafe and Motel was opened in the little Route 66 town of Amboy, California. At the time, Route 66, the "Mother Road" was the primary east-west highway artery crossing the nation from Chicago to Los Angeles. The town of Amboy and its legendary Roy's have seen it all over the past century, and somehow, the almost-abandoned town still keeps hanging in there.
